A Conference that Re-examines Language and Cultural Identity Abroad
The Faculty of Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb will host a two-day International Scientific and Professional Conference titled Croatian Language and Culture Abroad: Exploring the Past, Present, and Future.
The aim of the conference is to open discussions on the preservation of the Croatian language and culture abroad, with a focus on the historical perspective, contemporary challenges, and future prospects for teaching and transmitting the language beyond its homeland. The conference will bring together scholars and experts from the humanities and social sciences, representatives of educational institutions, teachers of Croatian as a second and foreign language, as well as professionals working with Croatian communities worldwide.
The thematic sections of the conference include: Croatian National Identity and Its Components, Croatian as a Second and Foreign Language in Croatia and Abroad, Croatia in the Context of Economic and Demographic Changes, and Croatian Diaspora Issues
Among the keynote speakers are distinguished scholars: Vanda Babić Galić, PhD, Full Professor, Lidija Cvikić, PhD,
Full Professor, Marko Tadić, PhD, Full Professor and Jasna Novak Milić, PhD, Associate Professor , whose scientific contributions will enrich the diversity of topics and foster an interdisciplinary approach.
